Welcome

We are dedicated to enhancing communication + relationships between families, assisting in facilitating the social development of youth + building partnerships with the community to contribute to the overall growth of society.

We provide therapy/counseling services in the Western Suburbs of Chicagoland in St. Charles, IL and surrounding areas, such as Geneva, IL, Aurora, IL, Batavia, IL + Naperville, IL.

If you're wondering whether to pursue counseling, here are some common reasons people choose to contact me:

Angry Teens: You can't figure out why your child is so angry, but you know something needs to change. Maybe your child was diagnosed with an emotional/behavioral disorder + is having trouble managing their emotions. Perhaps, your child is in a lot of trouble at school and/or the law + you feel as though you've tried everything. We can help you.

Teens Who Have Experienced Trauma: Trauma is a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. A traumatic experience is defined by how the person experiences an event. Trauma can range from a child's experiences tied to the death of the family pet, losing someone vital in their life or a child recovering from molestation or child abuse. Children who are traumatized can exhibit all kinds of symptoms. A normal happy, outgoing child is suddenly quiet, withdrawn and/or angry. I practice Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, where we will work with your teen on reducing intrusive thoughts and/or upsetting memories about the trauma, reducing emotional numbness, reducing avoidance of reminders of the trauma (people, places, things, etc.) + reducing irritability. More information can be found at the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. Living a healthy life after trauma is possible!

Young Adults: 'Adulting' is hard! You know it! I know it! The world knows it! When we're young, we think of how we can't wait to get older + experience freedom. When we become legal adults, many of us long to be young again! It can be helpful to have someone who is neutral walk you through transitions to/out of college, moving out of your parents house + into your own. Perhaps you just want to vent about how hard it is to "adult" counseling can be good for that as well.

Frustrated Parents: As a parent, you are the expert on your child. I work with you as a partner in the counseling process to build on the skills you already have. The second step of the process is to figure out what new skills you would like to learn and then we work on them at a steady pace.
